LEGALITY:
Electric Scooters
are considered as
bicycles
in most states. In California,
folding electric scooters are allowed on BART.
Please
to check Electric Scooter
Legality in your state; this is wikipedia, so is not a legal document.
Please check the legality in your
area to ensure your safety and compliance. Laws generally require riders
be 16 and wear a helmet.
Most public transportation systems allow electric scooters, but not gas, the
same as
"Bicycle Rules". Electric (not gas) scooters that can be folded, carried on and
held in your lap or under your seat are usually allowed anytime.
Electric Mopeds
have removable pedals.

Electric Bicycle Law HR72
Please print this
out and carry it with you when scooting.
Gas Scooters:
No license or insurance required for 4-stroke gas or
electric scooters under 30 mph, but riders on public streets must be at least 16
and must wear proper safety gear, (bicycle helmets and night lighting). Other
restrictions as bicycles and "Rules of the Road" apply. Prohibited on roadways
posted 35 mph and over without a bicycle lane. No age limit for off-road
riding and under the same restrictions as bicycles (sidewalks, pedestrian and
bicycle paths). Riders under 16 years old should always be under the supervision
of an adult 18 years or older. Local regulations may apply. Most public
transportation systems allow electric scooters, but not gas, the same as
"Bicycle Rules". Electric (not gas) scooters that can be folded, carried on and
held in your lap or under your seat are usually allowed anytime. California
State Legislation;
2-stroke gas engines are banned on or off road, (air/noise
pollution).
EXTENDED
WARRANTIES:
We
strongly recommend getting one if your scooter, moped, or ATV is
going to see daily use. It is the nature of these fun toys that
we go on and off road, over bumps, (remember we advise against
jumps) and this product will get more use and abuse than a
computer or other appliance. Especially with the electric ones,
they are complicated and the warranty ensures you get free
parts. You will need them at some point if it sees heavy use.
Please got to the Extended Warranty page for more info. Only
available for Xtreme Scooters. These
are available on the web pages for the eligible products too.
SHIPPING INFORMATION:
For only $3.00 you can get
signature required delivery. This is highly recommended, X-treme Scooters won't
be responsible for deliveries that are left on doorsteps.

States Ground Shipping.

RETURN
POLICY:
Scooter returns are not allowed and will be refused.
Any scooter that arrives at our warehouse without an authorized RMA number on
the outside of the shipping carton will be refused. We will however during the
30-day warranty period, provide you with free parts, & free live telephone
technical support (The Manufacturer
will phone you back after you open a support ticket and request a phone call).
Please contact our support department should you need assistance. X-Treme
Scooters will not be responsible for shipping charges on received or refused
packages. Freight collect and COD packages will not be accepted. We never issue
call tags. Any returns accepted at our warehouse due to fraudulent RMAs or
unauthorized call tags will be subject to a $50.00 restocking fee by the
Manufacturer.
There is a 30% service fee on all returns, authorized or unauthorized on all
returns applied by The Scooter Shoppe LLC, and shipping and handling fees are
non refundable. All sales are final.
You can contact X-Treme or ScooterX directly for your warranty support &
questions by opening a support ticket.
Damage that occurs during shipping and handling is not covered under our
warranty. You can however process a claim directly with the carrier. If you are
not sure if your product was damaged through shipping, please contact our
support department. Often X-Treme will cover damage to the body parts if it is
damaged during shipping & reported within 1 day of receiving the scooter. If you
have a problem, just check with us to see if it's covered by opening a scooter
support ticket.
After all this, if
you are still extremely unhappy, you have two choices. Either choice
requires you pay shipping back, and there is a 30% service fee applied by The
Scooter Shoppe.
1) The Fast Way:
Open a ticket with the Manufacturer and tell them how you feel. Be polite.
They have the authority to send new parts or authorize other issues. We don't,
we can't do anything but monitor and advise. If you are polite with them
you are more likely to succeed. I have seen unbelievable service by them,
seriously.
2) The Slow Way:
Do a charge back on your credit card. This takes 90-120 days and requires you
ship it back at your expense. Credit Card companies don't like charge
backs. They look at our Terms of Sale and Warranty. They also want to see
a record of the Support Ticket before they will do anything. Which kind of sends
you back to the "Fast Way". The amount of paperwork it takes to do a
charge back is incredible, that is why we have a 30% service fee. And
seriously, it takes forever.
